Electrical Engineering
From Everett-Smith & Co’s inception in 1965, it has been the company’s underlying philosophy and aspiration to be self-sufficient. It was clear from the outset that certification in Electrical Engineering would be one of the company’s cornerstones. In 1974 Terry Smith – the Company’s Principal Director – was admitted to the Institute of Engineers Australia, having successfully completed a degree in Electrical Engineering at Curtin University.
Over the years this capability has given the company the credentials to participate in the design aspects of the industry, and to provide positive contributions to projects with which it has been involved. While in the early days abilities in Engineering were considered to be an atypical addition to an electrical contractor, these days it is a crucial component of the company.
The engineering division utilises designers and technicians with both professional and trade backgrounds, providing a blend of knowledge and experience that is essential to the delivery of successful projects. From providing design services directly to clients to support to our on-site tradesmen, the engineering team provides valuable input on every project the company undertakes.
The team provides design and construct services, 2-dimensional drafting and 3-dimensional modelling, technical and standards advice, input to projects regarding mandatory requirements and leadership in commissioning and testing undertaken by the company. Certifications are an important part of the handover of any project, and these are supervised by the engineering team.
