What ESCO helped the client achieve
Modern Learning Hub
Everett Smith partnered with Lendlease to transform the TL Robertson Library at Curtin University into a modern and dynamic learning hub. The services upgrade included new electrical infrastructure, communications network & services, security & CCTV system, fire detection system and modern lighting designed around the architectural aesthetic of the different spaces within the library. With increased capacity, the library now offers flexible spaces that foster collaboration and creativity across the expanding campus.
Secure Connectivity
As part of the redevelopment, Everett Smith designed and delivered a fully integrated ICT and security infrastructure to create a safe and connected campus. Structured cabling supports AV and wireless connectivity, while IP-based CCTV and electronic access control safeguard critical spaces and protection for over 1.5 million annual visitors.
Sustainable Solutions
Everett Smith played a key role in the project by integrating a 108kW solar PV system, intelligent LED lighting, and advanced metering. These initiatives earned the project a 6 Star Green Star Design rating, improving overall energy efficiency and supporting Curtin’s commitment to long-term environmental goals.
Everett Smith’s Solution
From a 1972 landmark to a modern learning hub, Curtin’s TL Robertson Library now stands as a showcase of innovation. Everett Smith’s expertise in electrical and communications infrastructure delivered a world-class upgrade that ensures reliability and adaptability from design development through to commissioning. This transformation earned the project the 2024 UDIA WA Award for Excellence in Social & Community Infrastructure.
